MEET OUR PRINCIPAL
It is with much pride that I welcome you to St Joseph’s Primary School, Northcote. We are a small inner-city Catholic Primary School that provides a quality education where the student is at the heart of all we do.
I am privileged to be a part of this community, and as Principal, delight in witnessing the love, commitment and aspiration that each parent demonstrates for their child. Parents are the primary educators of their children and we, as teachers, journey with you in nurturing their spiritual, academic, social and emotional growth. At St Joseph’s we embrace genuine partnerships between families, the school and the parish as we work together to empower and challenge your children to become passionate, life-long learners, who actively and fervently inquire into the ever changing world around them.
As you peruse our website I hope you develop a sense of the strong community that binds us together at St Joseph’s. When you become a part of the St Joseph’s community you are welcomed with warmth and a genuine sense of belonging.
We believe the social and emotional wellbeing of our children is paramount, in order that they may develop a strong sense of self-belief and set personal high expectations. We INSPIRE, CHALLENGE and PREPARE the students in our care to become resilient, responsible and respectful young people who positively engage in their community, both locally and globally.
At St Joseph’s our students actively participate in their personal learning journey. They collaborate with their teachers and set personal goals to grow as a learner and move along the learning continuum. Our staff work together with the children to determine their unique strengths, interests and passions, and create a learning environment that is challenging, stimulating and engaging for all. We encourage positive mind-sets for growth and ensure our educational programs are evidence based and centred on individual student growth. Our approach to teaching and learning is to build a culture of excellence in which everyone succeeds as a learner.
We are a school where every student matters and every moment counts.
